These peanut butter rice krispie treats are extra thick and gooey. The addition of peanut butter, chocolate and a sprinkling of flaky sea salt gives these rice krispie treats a sweet and salty spin.*

Ingredients

miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup(s)
smooth peanut butter, see notes 1
1/2 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
kosher salt
8 cup(s)
crispy rice cereal, such as Rice Krispies
4 oz
melted chocolate, optional
Maldon salt, optional

Step 1

Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Measure and prep all ingredients.

In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Lightly press the mixture into the pan. Do not overpack.

Let the mixture cool completely, about 1 hour.
